Up next

The park morgan needs a bit more prep work, thinking flaxen liver chestnut on him or a really dark bay,oh buckskin would be cool. hmm.

Nevada was going to be a dunalino like the recent cm I did but then I decided (since my other Nevada, shown, is gruella and theyd be in the same color classes) that maybe I should do something else. Didnt really want a paint or appy so I thought roan, then strawberry roan, then found this ref shot, yeah thats the ticket!

a very good start!

Commissions (open for and finished with)

Pretty much done with this hunka hunka! Might need one more coat of sealer is all. I just sprayed him so you'll have go by the studio shots. I will get final ones before he ships off to his owner.

I love his fuzzy ear even if its not coming thru as nice in the photo as in person.

I am open for another commission or 2 so lmk what you have!

Waiting for the oils to dry I finally finished these 2 pieces. The Weather Girl was started in spring at Plastic Pony Massacre part I. Kerry says its high time for part II so we need to find a day that works before it gets snowy. Yes its MN in Nov and we have NOT yet had any (shhh dont jinx it!) Kerry has also laid claim to the classic tb turned mustang, and I wasnt going to sell him but theres this certain resin she gave me a while back so I owe her :) But not before it goes to the show with me in a few weeks!

Had a little spare time today and the urge to paint so I finished up 2 pieces that have been sitting patiently waiting for eyes, hooves etc for a while now. Unfortunately the 3rd piece I was working on I slipped and got black paint in a bad spot and will have to go back in with the airbrush next time its out.

Finally done, just needs a name, will debut in Nov at CCR in WI, as I am going to judge OFs. OTW I dont know when I would get to a show in the near or distant future.
Only copy of this medallion I have otherwise I was thinking about selling, showing Diva so much this year has really messed with my budget!

Why its been a month since I posted...

and worked on models....
been showing the heck out of my mare this year, our new saddle is so much more comfy for both of us and we have even started doing a little western pleasure again.

and then I decided we needed one more class to do:

I whipped this up in less than 2 weeks with stuff I had at home and $100 worth of supplies, some from ebay and thrift stores. It debuts tomrrow, unfortunately a main part of my costume I was going to make I did not get something from ebay I needed in time despite it being one of the first things I bought nearly 2 weeks ago :) But the show will go on. To see more about the costume check out my other blog:

Patterns galore!

Last weekend we went to a WSCA (stock) show that had several pleasure classes we could show in. Since the show was going slow and we werent the first class in we actually had time to take some shots. (having the trailer parked along side the ring helped too)

First class of the day was pleasure driving and while we expected the class to be empty we were pleasantly suprised when it was filled with horses in all shapes and sizes! From minis (several of them)...

To ponies, Fjords and stock horses...
 To a big black percheron

Also something I had never run across before, a "most colorful" class:

along with several lovely foals including these:

Didnt get any shots of us other than this one of Diva and Orion chowing down at the trailer. Orion is my friends gelding who gets very attached to mares and was nuzzling up to Diva all day. Unfortunately Diva was in heat and tho Orion wasnt at all interested in her that way (more of a mommy thing) she was just obnoxious.
There are a few shots of her here: though you might have to Like her page to see them?
