Show report/Diva report

Had a great time in MI at Melissa and Toms shows. Unfortunately came back with either a bad cold or allergies so I am behind in posting. I didnt get a single picture taken at either show :( Saturday I was too busy judging and Sunday, well my hands were usually full with horses for the next class. I didnt even think about the camera til well after lunch. Thankfully Liz LaRose took tons and posted them here http://www.elizabethlarose.com/collection/misc/tgb/show/ .

Saturday I just had a few chinas and cm glazes, including my new Taboo I picked up from Liz that morning. I also managed to get Roxy in a couple performance classes in between judging. Thanks to Jan and Juanita for helping keep an eye on my show string! Roxy won a western and an english class so is now qualified in both for NAN. Not bad for very simple entries thrown together at the last minute, with no time to primp over, and only 3 classes she made it into!

Sundays classes were large and tough! but I managed a few nan cards. Most importantly the newly fixed and painted HR Morgan got second in Light, 3rd in color and 3rd in classic. Highpoint results for the morgan, foal and appy awards havent been annouced yet but I have high hopes for that to be enough. I didnt see a lot of other morgans there.

my loot from both days combined, not included is an award from AA for the AA challenge class as they didnt arrive in time

my newest cm glazes did well

and we took a more adventurous way home and accidentally found the Jelly Belly factory in Pleasant Prarie WI so we had to go shop and take the tour!

on the Diva front we are still looking for a dressage saddle, the first one didnt work out and needs to be sold so I can get a different one, but I got her a bridle, isnt she the cutest dressage horse evah!
and its finally warm enough for her to go nekkid! om nom nom nom!

CCR show results

Phew what a long day that was, up at 5:30, show was fast and furious with a huge number of huge classes with only 2 judges double judging 2 divisions at once. I knew it would be a long show but was shocked and exhausted as we pulled out at 9:10 pm and hit the road back to MN. We should have been home around 2, decided to stop for sit down food so maybe 2:30. An hour or so from home the interstate was closed due to freezing rain making the roads super icy. Tons of cars in the ditch. No hotel at that exit so our only option was to hang out in the truck in the WalMart parking lot in 30 degree weather for about an hour and a half. We finally were let back on lightly salted roads that were still slick so going no faster than 40 we crawled the rest of the way up the interstate getting home at 5:00 AM!

Street and sidewalks were so icy you could hardly walk but the models had to be unloaded! I still havent recovered my sleep or my aching muscles from that one. And oh joy looks to be similar weather for Thanksgiving.

Anyway on to results and pix. I missed getting pix of a few of my pieces that did well and havent yet taken all their finished pictures but I got most of them.

Pieces by me:
not pictured: my new palo mustang baby got 2nd under both judges for halter, didnt have the camera out yet for that one, too busy first thing in the morning!

the SM reiner got a 5th under one judge, nothing under the other, same story with the Appy ISH
Roxy got a 3rd under one judge
Grulla classic QH got 4th under both

slightly older pieces that NANd included my Stormwatch, Lonestar and Nevada

now for the better results:

Il/Ia Live show results!

The show was fun as usual, bigger than its ever been and some large competitive classes! It was great to see my IL area friends, despite how much they razz me when I beat them :) I had about 19 models that I want to get qualified for NAN this summer, some more than others. I got 7 of them qualified. Most importantly I got my first ever oil painted models qualified!

The commission Mindy that I loved so much, I was wowed when she got second in a large gaited minis class!
Even better, she later got second in a VERY large all sizes AR/CM Chestnut color/workmanship class! Woot shes going to NAN if I have to steal her back and take her there myself! (and whats even cooler, she placed right behind my big Indy painted by Tom : ) )

I also NAN'd this recently finished Strawberry Jam

As well as my Pujabi resin! This is the sectional call backs, my two plus my Otto by Sheila Anderson :)
I thought I took more pix but as usual I got busy visiting or packing or showing! Heres a couple more tho:
My Fraley and Sarah/Joan cm glazes swept the CM Glaze for Champ and Reserve, each earning me 5 bucks! Which I spent on raffle tickets and lunch at the show (and I won 3 raffle items. I swear this show is the ONLY show or other raffle I ever win at.)

Lastly a resin I really wanted to qualify and she ended up getting reserve of the mini resin division! Mini Scarlett by Tiffany.
