Sealer is drying on the morgan, the foal may or may not get finished. In the meantime I was looking at the class list for next weekend trying to decide if I could swing just a couple performance classes, with no tack changes, while judging OF and showing clinkies. hmmmmm (maybe with some help :) )
So I decided to see what looked good on the smutty palomino Roxy, which lead to this....
Top one, is a combo of a pale mint green and peach. Ive used on paler dilutes/duns with much sucess (tho not in a while hence the messy fringe) But I think it might be too pale for this dark of a palomino. So then I tried earthtones. The dark oil wear leathers dont match the saddle but the match the chaps. Looks ok but not eye catching?
Then I got lazy with the last 2 wp dolls I own. The pale blue which has a beautiful matching pad and bridle with blue accents that I didnt swap out, nothing saying WOW here either. (and pardon her hat, the bow seems to be in the way all of a sudden). The dark blue (her hat is somewhere around here), maybe, adds more color, doesnt sit as well (not that I tried real hard), I have a blue and white pad that would go nice.
Thoughts?

Roxy cm for sale
Looking to buy dressage tack for Diva so I am putting my cm Roxy up for offers. Since she doesnt fit in my light box the pix arent as nice as I would like, she is not green if the pix look it on your screen, she is a golden smutty palomino. Remade to a collected canter more suitable for versatility showing. New tail and pulled mane, both detailed with dark hairs at the roots. Lowered head/neck, resculpted shoulders etc. Small stripe on face and 3 low socks. Have not yet had a chance to show her in performance but she can be a rock star, even halter too, perfect for Breyerfest performance! Accepting offers starting at $400, postage/ins will be extra

Palomino again!
Well after several coats of white in prep for using masking on my roxy cm, then going back and forth between overo and tobiano patterns, I discovered Masque Pens have zero shelf life :( The one I had opened and used last probably 7 years ago ??!? was in better shape then the one I bought and never even took out of the package. What a waste. Even the one that kinda looked like it would work, wasnt in shape to use, I tried and failed. So.....I decided since I had leftover paint from the palo slider Id do her in smutty palo too. I havent painted a trad horse this color since Matriarch first came out!
She will have mixed in dark hairs in her mane and tail, already started in mane. Now I have to decide if the mini slider needs to be a paint so I dont have 2 QH palomino cms:)

Stock horse central
Seems Ive been on a stock horse CMs kick, I have some appy cms that I show but somehow not to much else for my second favorite division! That had to be rectified!
These have all been in the prepping and cming process from last spring to just the other night.
First up, a CQHS, in gruella, not the first thought I had for him but I'm happy I changed direction. Its been a while since I painted a gruella, good to know I still can :)
ISH from the last post, has a new wispy mane and forelock, ready for his appy paintjob
Just started this guy friday night, funny how somethings come together so quick. I made a lot of little changes that combined with the new m/t should get him noticed. Im thinking smutty dapple palomino like the reiners at my new boarding stable.
FINALLY, the roxy cm I started so long ago, then redid the neck, is finally in her first base coat of white in prepartion for being a tobiano. I am going to try masking the markings out for the first time in ages, I get so tired of painting big white areas and keeping them smooth.
and then Pixie snuck in, she is finished other then final spray and gloss
I'm hoping to make it to a show or 2 yet this fall, if I can swing them both that would be awesome. One is a double judged halter show and the other has performance that Id like to get Roxy finished for.

Thats better!
Getting there! a few more tweaks and she will be ready for primer again. I'm much happier with her now!
Also working on this guy, gotta love prepping those oldies, not.
New tush, new boy parts (gelding), new forelock, carved out ears, detailed mane, resculpting on face (more to go), lots of sanding, farrier work and tail swished to the side and resculpted to match style, more sanding and filling...

OFF with their heads!
and necks and shoulders...aka Roxy take 2
Tired of doing white markings (again) so I decided to dig out roxy and fix whats been buggin me about her - the right shoulder and the length of the neck
So... off with the head
and the shoulder
Roughed back in the left side neck, the other side is going to be lots more work.
compared to before:
Think I'm on the right track now

Roxys new tail!
Its done! some more clean up and sanding to do still. Someday she will be ready for paint! She doesnt really fit in my kludged light box anymore and the weight of the epoxy tail put her off balance again. She now has pegs in both off the ground hooves. Nothing I hate more than a tippy performance horse!

Sanding sanding and more sanding :(
But I held off until after I took the mane pix so you can see her better. I still have a little work to do here and there to make things smoother. I am just a messy sculptor!
Hows that look?

ROXY!!!
I think shes coming along great, one of my best remakes. Still needs the mouth air hole filled in, some more sanding and a banded mane and forelock (eek, the last one of those I did wasnt the greatest but I know I can do better)
With original Roxy for comparison
I was dying to try some tack on her!

Roxy cm in progress
in early stages but I welcome input on the new position. The neck is not attached yet, just propped on, it will be level but higher up. Going for a slower lope so she is a bit more versatile. Like this:
not the exact photo I'm using but its the closest I could find online.
