Why its been a month since I posted...

and worked on models....
been showing the heck out of my mare this year, our new saddle is so much more comfy for both of us and we have even started doing a little western pleasure again.

and then I decided we needed one more class to do:

I whipped this up in less than 2 weeks with stuff I had at home and $100 worth of supplies, some from ebay and thrift stores. It debuts tomrrow, unfortunately a main part of my costume I was going to make I did not get something from ebay I needed in time despite it being one of the first things I bought nearly 2 weeks ago :) But the show will go on. To see more about the costume check out my other blog:  www.dressage-diva.blogspot.com

Patterns galore!

Last weekend we went to a WSCA (stock) show that had several pleasure classes we could show in. Since the show was going slow and we werent the first class in we actually had time to take some shots. (having the trailer parked along side the ring helped too)

First class of the day was pleasure driving and while we expected the class to be empty we were pleasantly suprised when it was filled with horses in all shapes and sizes! From minis (several of them)...

To ponies, Fjords and stock horses...
 To a big black percheron

Also something I had never run across before, a "most colorful" class:

along with several lovely foals including these:

Didnt get any shots of us other than this one of Diva and Orion chowing down at the trailer. Orion is my friends gelding who gets very attached to mares and was nuzzling up to Diva all day. Unfortunately Diva was in heat and tho Orion wasnt at all interested in her that way (more of a mommy thing) she was just obnoxious.
There are a few shots of her here:

Show report/Diva report

Had a great time in MI at Melissa and Toms shows. Unfortunately came back with either a bad cold or allergies so I am behind in posting. I didnt get a single picture taken at either show :( Saturday I was too busy judging and Sunday, well my hands were usually full with horses for the next class. I didnt even think about the camera til well after lunch. Thankfully Liz LaRose took tons and posted them here http://www.elizabethlarose.com/collection/misc/tgb/show/ .

Saturday I just had a few chinas and cm glazes, including my new Taboo I picked up from Liz that morning. I also managed to get Roxy in a couple performance classes in between judging. Thanks to Jan and Juanita for helping keep an eye on my show string! Roxy won a western and an english class so is now qualified in both for NAN. Not bad for very simple entries thrown together at the last minute, with no time to primp over, and only 3 classes she made it into!

Sundays classes were large and tough! but I managed a few nan cards. Most importantly the newly fixed and painted HR Morgan got second in Light, 3rd in color and 3rd in classic. Highpoint results for the morgan, foal and appy awards havent been annouced yet but I have high hopes for that to be enough. I didnt see a lot of other morgans there.

my loot from both days combined, not included is an award from AA for the AA challenge class as they didnt arrive in time

my newest cm glazes did well

and we took a more adventurous way home and accidentally found the Jelly Belly factory in Pleasant Prarie WI so we had to go shop and take the tour!

on the Diva front we are still looking for a dressage saddle, the first one didnt work out and needs to be sold so I can get a different one, but I got her a bridle, isnt she the cutest dressage horse evah!
and its finally warm enough for her to go nekkid! om nom nom nom!

Back in the saddle again

In more ways that one! My airbrush is fixed and I am having fun painting again! Oh how I missed it. I will still do some oils but Airbrush is where I want to be :)

Pixie after ONE session:

I LOVE FOALS!

She needs a bit more work and then some white markings but she is staying a solid color. Send me foals ! :) I cant paint enough of them.

On the real horse front, back in the saddle meant the first show after nearly 2 months of very little riding. We both had a tough time of it in the heat but boosted up our huntseat points and maintained our lead on high point halter for the year!

One more weekend of showing and we are DONE!

State of the Studio

After spending the better part of yesterday in the studio instead of going to the barn (in stormy weather), frankly the state is chaos. Good news is I got Jezebel (commission piece) primed and base coatred so she is ready to start now, bad news is I got tired of doing white markings and found a few other projects to work on as well:)

On the Diva front, after her chiro visit thurs night she wasnt cinchy today BUT she highly protested left lead cantering, not good! We have a show in 2 weeks!

Horse chiro visit

So Diva (that wild crazy Ayrab of mine (See above!)) saw a chiropractor for the first time in the 5 years Ive had her (never was really big on them, plus the cost). I doubt she saw one before I owned her either. Apparently her lower back and hips were a mess! He worked on her a long time. She took it well tho, stood nicely for the most part. Well, until he wanted to me do one of the homework things he assigned us, so he took the lead. Apparently she will walk all over anyone else but me! Something else I need to work on with her eh, or maybe it was just him, who knows. So we will see what the outcome is of this over the next couple weeks. Such an expensive spring it has been, and I still need to deal with all of my dogs shots! I did learn how to give her shots myself, that was scary for me! I dont much like doing it but I will to save money. Then I am going to learn how to do the same with Toby. So I put a few more things up on sales pages and I am still working away on the commissions here. I should have some updates this weekend.
